ThinkBook Plus Generation 6 takes our award for most innovative laptop at CES. With the press of a button, this laptop basically converts from a 14-inch device to a 16.7-inch device. Varies. Its screen rises to enlarge the display. It comes with a Lunar Lake processor and up to 32GB memory. Basically, it sacrifices some weight and portability for more screen real estate. Does. I thought this type of device would fall off, but it actually does. Was stable. In fact, there were no visible negative aspects in this technology. When I turned it out, I didn't see any unusual marks on the screen, and it actually looked like a big display. That being said, I did test it out to see how long that motor lasts. It is clear that it will have to be implemented.
Yoga Slim 9i: The Smallest, Most Compact 14-Inch Laptop Yet
Next, Yoga Slim 9i. This is a very light and compact 14-inch laptop. I think this is the smallest 14-inch laptop I have seen. It has a 98% screen-to-body ratio, and it features a webcam at the top of the display. Doesn't even have a webcam — it's actually behind the screen. So, again, thanks to Lenovo for introducing a useful innovation. Again, let's see if this method actually impacts webcam quality. We need to get this laptop for review.
ThinkPad X9: A Bold Move with a Trackpad Overhaul
Complementing Lenovo, both the ThinkPad X9 4 and 15 take a spot on this list. Worth it, I thought, and for a specific reason — its trackpad. These are the first ThinkPads to drop the red TrackPoint. Many ThinkPad conservatives have taken it to the streets, and it makes complete sense. But for others who use TrackPoint, the trackpad experience on ThinkPads is poor. To adapt to the TrackPoint's buttons, their trackpads were significantly small. This new X9 ThinkPad is an all-round premium ThinkPad we love for buyers — a promising experience without a sub trackpad. In fact, they can come standard with a more accurate haptic trackpad. One of the first Lenovo laptops.
Acer Predator Helios Neo 16S: The Slim Gaming Powerhouse of 2024
Next, Acer Predator Helios Neo 16S. Acer really has our hearts set on it when it comes to gaming laptops in 2024. They won our Best 18-inch Gaming Laptop award and our Best Budget Gaming Laptop Award. Also, their Predator Helios Neo 4 was one of my personal favorites, and I have recommended it a lot this year. Acer is releasing new 16-inch and 18-inch Predator Helios, along with a similar gaming laptop — Helios Neo 16S. It is essentially a slim gaming laptop, similar to ASUS's Aorus G16. It will initially be released with an Aake HX processor and RTX 5070. Looking at the value and quality Acer has brought to the gaming sector in 2024, I think this new laptop is definitely one to watch.
MSI Titan 18HX Dragon Edition: The Beast of CES 2025
Well, if there's an amazing laptop at CES 2025, it's the MSI Titan 18HX Dragon Edition. It also wins the award for the most ridiculous name. Check this thing out — it looks remarkable. And it's not just the color of the laptop lid; the design is actually construction. As expected, Titan promises the best of everything — 4K fast refresh rate Mini-LED display, up to 96GB memory, up to NVIDIA RTX 5090, Thunderbolt 5, Wi-Fi 7, and 2.5Gb Ethernet. The picture has come to you.
But, I wonder why Intel has better HX processors than AMD or Fire Range HX 3D. There are questions.
Gigabyte Aero 16: A Complete Redesign for the Better
Next, Gigabyte Aero 16, a past favorite. One of the hybrid devices I personally like is the Aero range — MacBook Pro 16" or like ASUS ProArt P16. It gives you a blend of performance and portability with premium creature comforts. Unfortunately, the last two Aero laptops were really bad. They were very thin with inefficient Intel Raptor Lake processors and felt like a stovetop.
